Petkovic informs German ambassador about Kurti's escalating moves targeting Serbs in Kosovo

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic met today with the new German ambassador to Serbia, Anke Holstein, whom he informed in detail about all the escalating and illegal moves being made by Pristina, that Albin Kurti is carrying out to the detriment of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Office said in a statement that on that occasion, he particularly pointed out the increasingly frequent, unfounded and politically motivated arrests of Serbs, as evidenced by yesterday's detention of nine of our compatriots from Zubin Potok, who were taken from their homes early Sunday morning.

He also recalled the illegal demolition of Serb-owned property, brutal physical violence like that suffered by Nenad Raskovic from Zubin Potok, and other forms of pressure that the regime in Pristina is using in a bid to expel Serbs from their centuries-old homes.

"Our people in Kosovo and Metohija, in front of the eyes of the entire international community, are threatened and deprived of basic human rights, like no other people on European soil," Petkovic said.

He also pointed out that the dialogue conducted in Brussels has been stagnant for months due to Pristina's refusal to participate, as well as that instead of talks, Kurti is resorting to violent and unilateral moves on the ground, with which he destroys all achievements of the agreements already reached.

The Office added that Petkovic recalled that Pristina has been refusing to form the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) for 13 years, which was guaranteed by the European Union with its signature, and that Belgrade expects the international community to put pressure on Pristina to start meeting the obligations it has undertaken.
