There is no information about the posibility  that it may be seen with bare eye, but the ones that knew what to look for managed to ''capture'' the red mist with their cameras.

Sasa Nuic posted on his Youtube account how northern lights looked like at tuesday, captured from Medvednica mountain.

Although unusual, this scenario is not impossible.

- The popular lights were spotted between 10th and 11th of February 1958, between 8th and 9th of November 1991 and between 6th and 7th of April 2000. That means more than 30 years has been since the first showing and the time between the last two was shorter than eight years. Croatia, as well as the bigger part of Europe stands outside of the regular Aurora Boreails area of appearance, the lights are only seen when they are extremely bright in the polar area. In these situations the polar light shapes are enriched with various colors, dominated by red - Croatian physical society reported.
