HARTMANN: ICTY responsible for the circus surrounding Seselj's case!

A former ICTY spokesperson Florence Hartmann said that Serbia should urge the Tribunal to reach a verdict in the case of Vojislav Seselj as quickly as possible, stressing that the ICTY is to blame for the circus surrounding this case.

- It was logical for the ICTY to change their decision, but they should have thought about it earlier, considering Seselj's behavior and the fact that he was allowed to return to Serbia unconditionally, Hartmann told TV B92 late on Monday.
The ICTY will probably insist that Seselj be extradited, said Hartmann, adding that a trial in absentia is not a likely scenario.
Serbia should urge the ICTY to reach a verdict in the Seselj case as soon as possible, stressed Hartmann, and qualified the actions of the Tribunal as regrettable.
The ICTY also showed no respect for the victims, and bears the responsibility for this entire circus. This is an awkward situation for Serbia, as Seselj is innocent until proven guilty. Delivering the verdict is crucial, said Hartmann.
