A working group will also be formed to coordinate the criminal and the family law, Mihajlovic announced in the Serbian parliament, where she attended the presentation of a special report by the Commissioner for protection of equality on discrimination of women.

Much work lies ahead for the Serbian government in this regard, she noted, urging other competent authorities to get involved.

WE ARE NOT A PRODUCT OF THE WEST, WE LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY, says activist and organizer of "Lesbian spring", the first lesbian-walk held in the Balkans!

"We plan to adopt a gender equality law and strategies through joint efforts of the governmental and non-governmental sectors. The essence is that we are doing this together because there can be no talk of gender equality or about fighting discrimination unless all our partners are involved," Mihajlovic said.
