Mihajlovic: Gender equality law to be complete by year's end

A working group will also be formed to coordinate the criminal and the family law, Mihajlovic announced in the Serbian parliament, where she attended the presentation of a special report by the Commissioner for protection of equality on discrimination of women.

Much work lies ahead for the Serbian government in this regard, she noted, urging other competent authorities to get involved.

"We plan to adopt a gender equality law and strategies through joint efforts of the governmental and non-governmental sectors.
