When this couple were tragically gunned down on a bridge in Sarajevo in May 1993, I had not long turned 18 and I remember the BBC news report so clearly that day and I was so overcome by emotion that I went straight to my bedroom to write a 15 verse poem about this beautiful couple. May they rest in peace <3

On the day this happened, I had not long turned 18 years of age and I remember the BBC news reporting this tragedy. I'm sure it was Martin Lewis and I remember being overcome with emotion. As soon as he finished the report I went straight to my bedroom and wrote a 10 verse poem about this beautiful couple and the ravages of war that brought an end to their lives. I still have the poem. God rest their souls.
