Funerals in Jabukovac: Village of horror bids farewell to quadruple murder victims

Raja Kazimirovic (72), his mother Dragica (93), sister Ljubinka Opricic (76) and her daughter Dragana (53) were buried today in the village of Jabukovac, near Negotin, in eastern Serbia.

They are the victims of a quadruple murder that happened last week in the nearby hamlet of Vratna.

Some 30 people gathered at the village cemetery to bid farewell - with the sad sounds of trumpets - to Raja Kazimirovic, his mother, aunt, and her daughter, who were cruelly liquidated at Kazimirovic's farm.

Their lifeless bodies were found last Friday; it's still unknown who who committed these brutal murders nor what the motive was. It is assumed, based on what the forensic experts found, that the bodies had been lying in the yard for several days.

A total of 10 shots were fired at the victims, and the killer reportedly threw a scarf or some other piece of clothing over each victim after killing them.

It is suspected that the murders were motivated by gain. According to unofficial information, forensics have found that the house had been ransacked, and allegedly two weapons were used to commit the crime, so there are indications of multiple, or at least two perpetrators.

The work of the police is further aggravated by the fact that several days had passed from the murders to the discovery of the bodies (two, and perhaps more) - which gave the criminals plenty of time to escape. So far, there are several avenues of inquiry, and the police and prosecution are not coming out with the facts in order to be able to piece the puzzle of the bloody rampage as soon as possible.

The very manner in which the act was performed also leads to suspicion that the killer or killers may have been professionals. Unofficially, not all shell casings have been recovered from the scene. And although four people were killed with a total of ten bullets - there was no blood on the tractor, on the porch, or in front of the house, where their bodies were found.
