President Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone today with the newly appointed US presidential special envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Richard Grenell.

The details of the conversation are unknown, and there will be no press release about the content of that conversation, Tanjug said.

Vucic previously said at a press conference after his meeting with candidates of the Serb List in the Kosovo elections that he would speak with Grenell at about 2:30 pm, adding that Grenell's appointment was a surprising news to Belgrade, recalling that the talks are taking place under EU auspices, and that the US has already appointed a Western Balkans envoy, Matthew Palmer.

He pointed out at the same time that Grenell was a "serious and responsible, a man trusted by Trump": "We will see in what direction this will go," Vucic said.
