Visits to patients at the Clinical Center of Serbia and the Emergency Center have been banned because of an increasing number of patients with respiratory infections.

The decision to ban visits was made on January 22 by the Commission for Hospital Infections of the Clinical Center of Serbia.

It was made because of an increase in the incidence of respiratory infections among the population and an increased number of admissions of patients with symptoms of respiratory infections.

The Ministry of Health told Tanjug that the decision to ban visits is made by similar commissions in each health institution, on the proposal of the competent public health institute.

Other hospitals and clinical centers are expected to do the same in the coming period.
