Number of people infected with coronavirus in Serbia rises to 19

So far, 160 people have been tested for COVID-19 in our country

A new case of coronavirus infection has been confirmed in another person in Serbia, bringing the total of those who have contracted this contagious disease in our country to 19, according to official information from the Ministry of Health.

Since the last report last night at 8 pm until this morning at 8 am, samples taken from 9 more people have been tested with only one coming back positive for COVID-19.

So far, samples from a total of 160 persons have been tested at the Torlak Institute.

The Serbian government yesterday banned indoor public gatherings of more than 100 people. Also, border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina will be closed today.

In order to prevent the spread of the infection, Serbia previously banned from entry foreigners coming from Italy, China, South Korea, Iran and Switzerland. All student excursions have been canceled.

In Serbia, the first case coronavirus appeared on March 6. The first patient was 43-year-old I.DJ. from Backa Topola, in the north of the country.
