Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has confirmed that two diplomats from the Serbian mission in Geneva have been infected with coronavirus.

He said the first case was reported on March 12, while the second was officially confirmed yesterday as testing positive for coronavirus.

"One of the diplomats infected with coronavirus is in serious condition. He is currently in the hospital. We are constantly in touch with the authorities in Switzerland in order to provide any necessary assistance if needed," Dacic said, Pink.rs is reporting.

The minister said he hopes that the first diplomat who was infected has recovered.

"I don't know if he has been cured, because when he reported for a checkup in Switzerland they told him they had no testing kits," Dacic said.

He urged Serbian citizens to adhere to government measures that are based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, because, as he said, if we don't respect the measures we will not be successful and that will eventually affect everyone.
