Fatal section of Ibar highway: Dozens of lives are lost here, mostly during May and June

In the past two decades, dozens of people have lost their lives on the section of the Ibar highway between Preljina and Mrcajevac, and only in the last two years, the death toll there has been about a dozen.

Statistics show that accidents with the largest number of casualties occur during May and June.

During a collision of three passenger vehicles on June 15, 2018 in the village of Mojsinje, four young people were killed, while two were injured.

The police at the time arrested N.J. (39) from the vicinity of Cacak, who was suspected of causing the accident.

Monday, June 18, 2018, was declared a day of mourning in Cacak.

Not far from the place of this accident, on May 11 last year, a mother and her son lost their lives.

The accident occurred when a bus with Novi Pazar license plates, which was traveling from Kraljevo, started to overtake a van and collided directly with their car coming from the direction of Cacak.

A woman, a resident of Mojsinje, died on the spot, while her son succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

Several days later, residents of Mojsinje threatened to block the main road unless the police stepped up controls on that part of the road.

During May this year, two people were killed on the section between Mrcajevac and Preljina.

On May 7, in an accident that happened between Donja Gorevnica and Mojsinje, the driver of a motorcycle was killed when he crossed into the opposite lane and hit a passenger car directly.

Three days ago, in a collision of passenger vehicles near the company Vorwerk in Preljina, a young man lost his life while another was seriously injured.

A driver from Tutin, who was being chased by the police, crossed into the opposite lane and collided directly with the vehicle in which the young men were traveling.
