From June 1, everyone will be able to test for coronavirus antibodies: Here's how much it will cost

The Crisis HQ for the suppression of infectious disease COVID-19 has made a new decisions today in accordance with the current epidemiological situation in Serbia. Starting from June 1, all citizens who do not have symptoms, and want to do a quick serological test for antibodies, will be able to do so at a price of 1,200 dinars (10 euros).

It is important to stress that these tests are not mandatory and are done exclusively on personal request.

Epidemiologist Darija Kisic Tepavcevic told Tanjug that thanks to these serological tests, everyone will be able to find out whether they have antibodies to the virus and whether they had come into contact with the virus in the previous period.

This type of testing, also known as "elisa testing", will be done in all health centers, institutes and public health institutes, in the Institute for the Protection of Health of Railway Workers and in the Institute for the Protection of Student Health.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic was the first to announce plans to introduce quick tests for antibodies, saying that they will most likely cost between 1,000 and 1,200 dinars.

She said that based on those tests, it will be possible to determine whether someone had contracted coronavirus.

"We took care to make the price for citizens who want to be tested for antibodies symbolic," she told TV Prva and added that the state will not make any money from those tests.

The Crisis HQ also made a decision today that public outdoors gatherings will be allowed starting on June 1 for a maximum of 1,000 people.
