Vucic offers condolences to president of Lebanon: We deeply sympathize with victims' families

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic today sent a telegram of condolences to the president of Lebanon, Michel Aoun, after more than 100 people died in a massive explosion in Beirut on Tuesday.

"Please receive my sincere condolences on the occasion of the catastrophic explosion in Beirut, in which many people died. We were deeply shaken by the footage of the horrific accident, and in these painful moments we in Serbia, share the grief of our friends in Lebanon, deeply sympathizing with the families of the victims. Our thoughts are with those injured and I am convinced that you and the Lebanese state will provide them with all the help and support. I send them wishes for a speedy recovery," stated Vucic.

As the President's Office for Media Relations announced, he stressed that Serbia is ready to, if necessary and within its capabilities, provide assistance in eliminating the consequences of the destruction in the capital of Lebanon.
