This summer, Zlatibor, despite the unfavorable health situation in the country and around the world, had a very high number of tourists. Record number of visits happened in almost all locations, and according to the data of the Statistical Office, this mountain was the most visited in the first eight months with over 491,000 overnight stays, reports Rina.

A large number of visitors proves that Zlatibor is improving its tourist offer from year to year. In 2020, great interest was shown in the lookouts on Gradina and Obadovo Brdo, that were built in previous years. Also, this year, a major reconstruction of the mountain's tourist center began. In addition to the natural beauties, beautiful landscapes, and the many activities it offers, Zlatibor received a modern tourist center that will make the stay of tourists better, and do the locals proud.

Kraljev Square is gradually getting a completely new look, and works are coming to an end to the delight of tourists. Works on Trgovacka Street are also being finalized, which will house all hospitality establishments that used to be located around the lake, while the street that connects Hotel Olimp and the Danube Resort will become a modern promenade that will be suitable for families with small children and babies as well as for disabled persons. The new modern look of the lake will adorn the mountain beauty and represent the "pearl" of Zlatibor.

After the reconstruction of the square has been completed and the Gold Gondola, the tourist project of the decade, has been commissioned, another large investment is being prepared, as announced by the municipality of Cajetina. On Ribnica Lake, next to a gondola station, a tourist complex called Zlatni Grad ("Golden City") is set to be built on over 200 hectares.
