We will be patient, we will wait for Brussels to do the job as agreed, but if that does not happen, then we will consider all possibilities and determine further steps - announced Popovic

Srdjan Popovic, president of the municipality of Gracanica (a Serb enclave in Kosovo and Metohija) and vice president of the Serb List, told RTS that Pristina's refusal to discuss the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) is an attack on vital political, economic and social interests of Serbs.

EU Special Envoy for the Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak is coming to Belgrade. Representatives of the Serb List told him at a meeting last night that they would leave Kosovo institutions if the Community of Serb Municipalities is not formed.

President of the Municipality of Gracanica and Vice President of the Serb List Srdjan Popovic told RTS that Pristina's refusal to discuss the ZSO is an attack on vital political, economic and social interests of the Serbs.

"In the Brussels Agreement itself, we were promised that the Community of Serb Municipalities would be formed. That is why we entered the institutions at the central level and formed local institutions. That promise gives us the right to withdraw from all institutions, if that promise is not fulfilled," says Popovic.

However, he notes that he hopes that the promise will be fulfilled and that Brussels will play its role as it should.

He believes that the time is right for Brussels to show its authority.

"We will be patient, we will wait for Brussels to do the job as agreed. If that does not happen, then we will consider all possibilities and determine further steps concerning the leaving the institutions," announced Popovic.

He points out that ZSO is important because they would have another instance, people would be more relaxed, and it would create a lot of space in terms of economic development and direct cooperation with Belgrade.
