The bodies of the deceased from coronavirus will no longer be prepared for burial, as is customary, i.e., will not be bathed, cleaned, shaved or combed. This decision was made based on Article 65 of the Law on Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases, published in the Official Gazette.

"The Minister of Health shall issue a rulebook amending the rulebook on the conditions and the manner of dealing with the remains of a deceased person. Article 3, paragraph 2 is amended to read as follows: Hygienic treatment is not performed on persons who died from the following infectious diseases: anthrax, plague, cholera, smallpox, viral hemorrhagic fevers (except hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome), severe acute respiratory syndrome - SARS and other unknown infectious diseases," a statement said.

The rules will enter into force on the eighth day from the day of their publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.
