Darkest day for Serbia, 51 people died, another 7,606 infected: Most tests done in single day

In the last 24 hours coronavirus was confirmed in 7,606 more people, while at the same time 51 patients died as a result of the Covid disease.

21,569 people were tested, and out of that number, 35.26 percent were positive.

There are 243 patients on ventilators.

Most new cases are in Belgrade - 2,169, followed by Novi Sad with 502, Kragujevac has 290, Nis 247, Kraljevo 199, Pancevo 184, Cacak 158, Smederevo 139, Subotica 116, Valjevo 104, Backa Palanka 98, Zajecar 98, Zrenjanin 93, Sabac 86, Becej 85, Bor 80, Krusevac 77, Vrbas 71, other towns less than 70.

So far, a total of 1,703,985 have been tested, with 148,214 positives.

In his address made earlier in the day, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that today is the most difficult day for Serbia as far as coronavirus is concerned, and that most likely every one after that will be difficult.

"We had 47 dead this morning already. The situation in hospitals is terribly difficult," he said.
