The latest, stricter measures in the fight against coronavirus, which were adopted by the Government of Serbia yesterday on the recommendation of the Crisis HQ are coming into force in Serbia today. The measures will be valid until December 15, and during those 11 days hospitality industry establishments, shopping centers, beauty salons... will stay closed on weekends, grocery stores will be open every day until 9 pm, green markets until 3 pm, and cinemas and theaters until 5 pm.

Hospitality establishments

Cafes, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and rafts will be closed from Friday at 5 pm until Monday at 5 am without exception. Their working hours will be from Monday to Friday from 5 am until 5 pm.

These establishments are allowed to deliver food non-stop, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as are other other businessmen whose main activity is food delivery.

Shopping malls, clothing stores, playrooms

From Friday at 5 pm until Monday at 5 am, shopping malls, clothing stores, betting parlors, casinos and children's playrooms will also be closed.

The same goes for hair and beauty salons. On weekends, facilities in the field of sports and recreation will not work - gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools, spa centers, football, basketball, tennis or any other recreational sport.

All of these facilities are allowed to operate on weekdays from 5 am until 5 pm.

Working hours of other facilities

Grocery stores, retail facilities as well as newsagents, kiosks and the like, where, as a rule, customers do not enter can stay open both on weekdays and weekends, until 9 pm.

Restaurants and bars within hotels and private accommodation can provide their services only and exclusively to registered guests until 9 pm every day.

Gas stations, pharmacies, doctors' offices without restrictions

Pharmacies and gas stations (fuel sales) can work non-stop, every day without restrictions.

Medical offices and laboratories that provide medical services can work all day, including weekends.

Sports facilities can also be used on weekends for trainings and holding exclusively registered competitions under the jurisdiction of national sports federations.

Cinemas and museums open until 5 pm

Facilities and institutions in the field of culture - cinemas, theaters, museums and galleries will be able to work on weekdays, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays, until 5 pm.

Green markets open until 3 pm

Facilities and stores that provide services that do not require the presence of users or where the presence and contact is of limited duration, such as appliance repair shops, technical services, tailors, shoemakers and glass cutters can work on weekdays until 9 pm and on Saturdays until 5 pm.

Green markets will also be open on weekends from 6 am until 3 pm.

The Office for Cooperation with the Media of the Government of Serbia announced yesterday that all these measures were adopted with the aim of reducing social contacts to an absolute minimum, with the hope that they will give the desired result and that we will see it in the days ahead in the number of new daily coronavirus cases.

They added that competent inspections and the communal police will strictly control the observance of these measures:

"The Government of Serbia and the Crisis HQ appeal on all citizens to behave responsibly and not gather in apartments, private accommodations or in any other space because they endanger their own health, the health of their family and pose a risk to their entire environment."
