What stricter measures will be adopted next week and what awaits those coming to Serbia from Dec. 15

A session of the Crisis HQ for the fight against coronavirus will be held again immediately after December 15, until which date the existing measures are valid, and as Telegraf.rs has learned from this body, these measures will most likely be extended, and maybe even become stricter.

A source has told Telegraf.rs that PCR testing will certainly will be introduced for everyone who enters Serbia before the holidays, as well as that this should have been done today, but a decision was made to wait until December 15 and see the effect of the existing measures.

"A negative PCR test requirement will certainly be introduced for everyone entering country, regardless of whether they are our citizens or foreigners, and regardless of which country they come from. PCR tests must not be older than 48 hours, while those who do not have them must quarantine," our source states.

Our interlocutor adds that the existing measures that are now in force will certainly be extended.

"It has not been ruled out that they will be stricter, but we will know everything that based on the assessment of the epidemiological situation, that is, after the analysis of whether the measures in force have an affect. Hospitals are currently a problem. The influx of patients is constant," said our source.

Members of the Crisis Staff held a session this morning at 8, but no new measure has been adopted at it, although the medical part believes that PCR testing should be introduced when entering the country.

A total of 249,224 confirmed cases of Covid 19 were registered in the Republic of Serbia by 3 pm on December 10, 2020. Since the last report, samples from 21,799 persons have been tested, of which 7,393 were positive.

There are a total of 323 patients on ventilators. A total of 1,980,272 people were tested in the Republic of Serbia.

In the last 24 hours, 56 people died from Covid 19. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic is 2,172.

Currently, a total of 8,594 patients are hospitalized for coronavirus.
