As of today, the price of electricity in Serbia will increase by 3.4 percent. One kilowatt hour now costs 7.8 dinars, before VAT.

The average price of electricity for customers who have the right to guaranteed supply at regulated prices, and these are households and small customers, will amount to 7.867 dinars per kilowatt hour, before taxes and duties.

The consent for the increase at the request of the EPS was given by the Energy Agency in December last year.

The previous increase in the price of electricity was on December 1, 2019, when the price of electricity went up 3.9 percent.

The analysis of the Energy Agency shows that the February bill for the average monthly consumption of 450 kilowatts, which is how most households spend, will be increased by about 150 dinars. Those who use electricity to heat their homes, consuming up to 1,600 kilowatts, will pay 350 dinars more.

Even after the increase in the price of electricity in 2017, and again the end of 2019, Serbia remained the country with by far the lowest price of electricity in Europe. That is, according to calculations of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, since the last price increase, far below the prices in the region.
