The director of the Covid hospital in Batajnica, Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic, said today that the situation when it comes to the coronavirus epidemic is alarming, critical and worrying.

She told TV Prva that everything must be closed and that closing establishments and stores at noon just means buying time.

Adzic Vukicevic said that 11 more semi-intensive care units have been opened in the hospital in Batajnica, which means another 400 beds, and added that the situation in the hospital is alarming and tense.

Dr. Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic added that this is no joke, that the dead and the sick are everywhere, and that everything has to be shut down. "Closing at 12 o'clock is nonsense. It's buying time."

According to her, everything must be closed for at least for two weeks, with a strong appeal on people to get vaccinated.

"I am horrified by this hysteria about winter vacations. What is the conscience of those people, not to mention the crowds on gondolas, in log cabins and cafes where they're drinking wine and brandy... I don't understand," said the director of the largest Covid hospital in Serbia.

As an example, she mentioned that she went around the hospital yesterday and randomly asked older people how they became infected, and everyone told her that they did not know because they respected all the measures. But, she says, when she asked them who they were in contact with, they all told her it was those who went on winter vacations.

There are no more beds, there are only five left in Batajnica, said Dr. Tatjana Adzic Vukicevic. She warned that patients are arriving in with such serious condition that they cannot even be transported to Krusevac.

She also told citizens that they must be vaccinated without any excuses, as well as that they have four vaccines at their disposal. There are, as she says, those reactions where pneumonia develops after receiving the vaccine, and that there are about 20 such patients in Batajnica, but that none of them has died. On the other hand, a guy in his 20s died, a doctor from Nis who's average grade at the (Faculty of) Medicine was 9.99," said the director of the Covid hospital in Batajnica.
