PM Brnabic speaks frankly about how heated Crisis HQ discussions get

That is completely normal

After a meeting of the Crisis HQ dealing with the coronavirus epidemic, new, stricter measures have been adopted. A question has been asked about what the exchanges of opinions between the political and the medical part of the Crisis HQ look like.

"It is absolutely about reaching compromise, but I think that all our solutions so far have been a compromise. A part of the medical HQ accepted it, but they underlined that their opinion is that the measures should last 14 days," PM Ana Brnabic said after the meeting of the Crisis HQ.

There is talk about how heated the sessions get, how many debates there are, but that is completely normal, said Brnabic.

"The work of this Crisis HQ is a real example of how to function in difficult circumstances, how compromises are reached. It is clear to everyone how difficult the measures are and that they must be a matter of compromise, and we are all still members of the Crisis HQ," the prime minister pointed out.

As she noted, no one in this body said that they would leave because a compromise had been reached.

"And we all leave the sessions dissatisfied, but together, pushing on, we are witnesses that the measures produce solutions. If there were no compromise solutions, the economy would stop or the healthcare system would break down, but this is how we will continue," the prime minister explained and added:

"Yes, we have a lot of discussions, lively discussions, but we stick together and move forward together."

After the meeting today, new Covid measures have been adopted.

"Starting tomorrow until Monday, opening hours will be like during (the previous two) weekends. Starting tonight, everything shuts down, and we will see what it will be like from Monday on. We will not introduce a curfew, there will be no travel bans. Groceries, pharmacies, gas stations will remain open, everything that is necessary for a normal life," said Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, adding that kindergartens will also work, while all elementary and high school students will switch to online classes.
