This town in southern Serbia has no new Covid cases after more than a year

According to the latest data from the City Emergency Situations HQ in Vranje, out of 222 samples taken from people in the Pcinj District, four have been positive for Covid 19. There has been one new coronavirus case in Surdulica, Vladicin Han, Bujanovac and Presevo each.

"For the first time in more than a year, Vranje is without new Covid cases," the local HQ announced, RTS is reporting.

81 examinations have been performed in the Covid clinic in Vranje yesterday, of which 30 were first examinations. Blood samples were taken from 31 patients, along with 25 lung X-rays.

"38 antigen and two PCR tests have been done, and nobody was positive for coronavirus. Bronchopneumonia was diagnosed in five patients," said a statement.

30 patients are currently hospitalized in the Covid hospital in the Healthcare Center Vranje. Of that number, 23 are positive for coronavirus, and 17 have bronchopneumonia. There are 14 patients on oxygen therapy.

There have been no new admissions, while 10 patients have been discharged, one of which to be transported to Krusevac. There are currently 46 free beds in the Covid Hospital in Vranje.
