Djokovic makes another historic step, now he is in the second place of the all-time list

A day after Roger Federer became only the second 40-year-old player with a place in the top 10 on either the ATP or the WTA lists, the world's best tennis player Novak Djokovic made another historic step when it comes to these rankings!

Djokovic has already become the record holder of the ATP list when he overtook Federer on top in terms of the number of weeks spent there. On Sunday, he publicly wished Federer a happy his birthday, while this Monday Djokovic overtook the legendary Martina Navratilova with 333 weeks at the top of all-time ATP and WTA lists.

The Czech, who is otherwise considered one of the greatest players of all time, spent 332 weeks in the number one spot and is now the third most successful tennis player ever in those terms, while only Steffi Graf remains ahead of Novak with 377 weeks at the top.

Djokovic currently has 1,893 points more than Daniil Medvedev in second and 2,510 points more than Stefanos Tsitsipas against who he played in the finals of the Australian Open and the French Open tournaments this season.

Good news for Novak is the possibility of increasing his advantage by the end of the year, because he is defending only 180 points in that period of time. Therefore it is not surprising that beating Steffi Graf's record is achievable, although it seems far away at the moment.

It is also worth mentioning that the first official ATP list was published on August 23, 1973, while the official WTA list was launched on November 3, 1975.
