Members of the Crisis HQ for the fight against coronavirus are meeting today starting at 2 pm in the Palace of Serbia, after a break of almost a month. One of the topics that will certainly be discussed, and which was also announced by Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic, is how to increase the vaccination rate, and how to reduce the gap between the second and third booster dose from six to five months.

Given the epidemiological situation, the medical part of the Crisis HQ is more in favor of introducing radical measures, because they say that the situation is catastrophic and that we have lost the chance of having a peaceful fall.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon, a member of the Crisis HQ, said last week that the most drastic way out would be a 10-day lockdown.

Professor Dr. Radmilo Jankovic, Deputy Director of the University Clinical Center in Nis, is of the opinion that Covid passes would not improve the situation epidemiologically at this time because so many people are infected, but that the only option currently are some radical measures to prevent contacts.

Professor Dr. Branislav Tiodorovic, also a member of the HQ, expressed his belief that there will be no tightening of measures in terms of restrictions and lockdowns, but also that he believes that professionals will have to declare themselves, while it is up to the state and people to say whether they will do something or not.

The last session of the Crisis HQ was held on Saturday, September 11. After that, Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic addressed the public and stated that a decision had been made to introduce a Covid certificate. She then said that these would be introduced in night clubs, bars, cafes, indoor restaurants.

In the meantime, statements could be heard that everything is ready for their introduction, that there are no legal restrictions, but this decision has not been implemented yet.

According to the latest data regarding coronavirus in Serbia, as of yesterday at 3 pm, Covid 19 was confirmed in 5,983 samples out of the 19,452 tested in the previous 24 hours.

At the same time, 50 people died as a result of this disease.

6,511 patients were hospitalized in Serbia, of which 256 were on ventilators.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 966,989 samples out of the 5,727,277 tested have been positiv. The death toll from Covid in Serbia is currently at 8,430.
