President of the Assembly of Serbia Ivica Dacic said this morning during the Uranak show on K1 television that there is still a lot of time until real election campaigning kicks off and that it is not known who will go to the polls with whom, and how.

"We are far from a real election campaign, there is still a lot of time until the vote. Of all the things I do, I'm campaigning the least. I'm talking about the referendum, and nobody cares about that. We are still considering whether it's better to be on a joint list with the SNS or on two separate lists. We are in a more difficult position if we go for two lists, because we will get less support. I still don't have an answer from the SNS whether there will be a joint list," Dacic said this morning on K1.

According to him, the SPS and the JS have an agreement to support one presidential candidate, Vucic.

"If we have our own candidate that would mean helping Vucic not win in the first round. It suits the SNS for us to support Vucic, but not to go for a joint list. My position is that either we go together at all levels or separately everywhere. I will not run for president, but I cannot allow the SPS to fail. We are entering something that is not good for our ratings, we are sacrificing ourselves to have a common presidential candidate. The SPS is in a difficult and complex position. The SNS would understand my candidacy as a direct opposition to Vucic," said Dacic.

He added that Goran Trivan has been against him from the beginning.

"I called him to ask him when was it that I didn't let him speak his mind. Well, they blame me for not being strict enough. I've had enough of philosophers, let him come and say what he thinks. I don't know who Trivan works for, but he certainly isn't workingfor the SPS. He was also against a coalition with the Democrats and then became a minister. He was nudging me all the time to support Seselj during the era of Slobodan Milosevic."

About Goran Markovic

"Such vocabulary and way of communication does not suit that so-called cultural elite, as they call themselves. Calling for bloodshed should not be tolerated regardless of where it's coming from. Nobody has the right to say that someone should be executed by a firing squad," Dacic said on K1.

About the referendum

As Dacic said on Uranak, the change of the Constitution in the area of justice will means that those who have not been elected by politicians will also judge and prosecute citizens.

"There have been many objections that our judiciary is dependent on politics. That citizens electing judges and prosecutors is not the best way, so from Europe they say that the European standard strives towards judges and prosecutors being elected by autonomous independent bodies. That is a precondition for joining the EU. If the majority votes 'no' (in the referendum), our accession to the EU will slow down. There will be no talk about Europe unless we say 'yes'. This is one of the main preconditions and they have been asking for it for ten years. We would not have opened cluster 4 if we had not brought about constitutional changes," Ivica Dacic said on K1 this morning.

The president of the Assembly of Serbia also said that he has never been involved in personnel matters and that he did not feel responsible for the situation in EPS, Serbia's state power company, and also explained that his son has not entered politics, but "only joined the party."

"He goes with me as my son, he has no role in the party," said Dacic.
