The first two cases of Omicron have been confirmed in Albania, Eugen Tomini, director of the Institute of Public Health, said today.

She specified that these cases were confirmed by laboratory diagnostics, reports the Panorama.al portal.

According to her, the Delta is still the dominant variant of coronavirus in Albania.

The Omicron strain has been registered in more than 100 countries around the world, which is why many have decided to introduce stricter measures.

The professional public in Serbia, as well as Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, agree that the new strain of coronavirus - Omicron, which has been discovered in more than 100 countries and in almost all the neighboring ones, is present in our country as well, although it has not been officially confirmed.
