On the right bank of the Drina River, in the settlement of Perucac, in the Tara National Park, there is a river called Vrelo or, as it is even better known - the Godina River.

It is only 365 meters long (hence the name - "godina" in Serbian means, "year"), just as many as there are days in a year, and is considered to be one of the shortest rivers in Europe.

It was formed from a strong karst spring Perucac at the foot of Mt. Tara, and flows into the Drina with a waterfall that is 14 meters tall.

Despite the fact that it is very short, it has a spring, a fish pond, a mill, and wooden bridges...

What's interesting is that the Godina never changes its length by a millimeter, hence the belief that future newlyweds should come here before marriage so that their love can withstand all temptations and remain unchanged after they say their fateful "yes."

Another legend follows the Godina. It is believed that everyone who passes down its entire course will be lucky the next year.

According to yet another belief, the Godina makes wishes come true; it is necessary to put a coin under the pillow the night before coming there and strongly imagine the wish, and then take that coin with you, go down all the way of the river's course and throw it into the river. Patience, say those who believe that the River Godina has a special power, is crucial - the wish should come true in the next 365 days.

In the campaign to select "The tSeven Serbian Wonders of Nature", organized by the Tourism Organization of Serbia, the Drina with the River Vrelo, i.e. the Godina, won the first place.
