President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today received Ambassador of Egypt Amr Aljowaily for his farewell visit, and thanked him for his immeasurable contribution to improving bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields.

Aleksandar Vucic said he was pleased that Egypt was represented in Serbia by a diplomat with great experience and a multitude of ideas, which reflected in achieving greater closeness between the two countries.

The two interlocutors stressed the need to revive the work of the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation, and conclude a series of agreements in the field of economy, such as a free trade agreement, which would create a legal basis for strengthening cooperation.

In this regard, they concluded that greatest opportunities exist in agriculture, tourism and health, machine industry, construction and other sectors. The president of Serbia congratulated the leadership and people of Egypt on realizing great development projects.

He thanked Ambassador Aljowaily for paying great attention to intensified cultural cooperation, the Service for Cooperation with the Media of the President of the Republic said in a statement.

Vucic also said he hoped he will have the honor to host President Al-Sisi in Serbia in near future, and sent greetings to his counterpart, thanking him for the understanding that Egypt is showing for Serbia's position when it comes to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.

Vucic wished Ambassador Aljowaily much success in the responsible position he is taking over with the African Union Commission.

Ambassador Aljowaily said that he carries best memories from Serbia and thanked President Vucic in particular for showing desire to develop friendly relations with the countries of the Muslim world.
