The Government of Serbia has sent 60,000 universal transport media with two swabs each for PCR testing for coronavirus to the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a donation.

The transport media are a necessary component in all Covid testing protocols and consist of a test tube and two swabs for sampling. In this way, the services provided by the health center in Mostar will be improved, and citizens will have testing available at several locations, and even at home for the elderly and vulnerable, the Government of Serbia announced.

Bearing in mind that the city of Mostar uses on average 4,500 transport media per month, the Government of Serbia is proud that the donated amount will be enough to cover the needs of the residents of Mostar over the next year.

The Government of Serbia hopes that this donation will help the city combat the pandemic as successfully as possible in the coming period.

Cooperation with Mostar intensified after the visit of Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic to this city on October 4. Brnabic at the time visited the Serb community in Mostar. On that occasion, the prime minister of Serbia met with Vice President of the Assembly of the City of Mostar Velibor Milivojevic, and Mayor Mario Kordic, with whom this donation was agreed and eventually realized.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Serbia has repeatedly helped the countries in the region with medical supplies, protective equipment and vaccines, which were certainly most needed by our neighbors in the previous year.

The Government of Serbia is proud of the fact that citizens from the region were given the opportunity to get vaccinated in our country at a time when vaccines were not available in their own, the statement said.
