Serbian president assures UK' PM: Serbia will preserve peace and stability in region at any cost

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic announced on Instagram that he had just finished talking to Boris Johnson. During the conversation, Vucic emphasized that the principle of respecting the norms of international law is of essential importance for Serbia, as well as respecting the territorial integrity of sovereign states.

"I invited Boris Johnson to come to Serbia because a British PM has not visited our country in 42 years, and received assurances that he would visit us soon," the president wrote.

He also said that they discussed cooperation in the field of energy, economy, but also all other bilateral issues concerning the United Kingdom and Serbia.

"I especially stressed that Serbia will, at all costs, preserve peace and stability in the region of the Western Balkans. Of course, I also thanked him for the attention and respect that the UK shows towards Serbia," he added.
