Serbia is just deciding whether to ban export of wheat: "Easiest thing to do is spread panic, accuse state"

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has denied that there are any shortages in the country, but added that the current situation shows how clever the decision to invest in gold had been, given that the value of this precious metal is increasing each day - from 500 to 900 euros per kilogram - which also shows the scale of the global crisis.

When asked what the state can do to prevent the spread of panic over possible shortages in Serbia, Vucic said that it is easiest to spread panic and do things against your own state.

According to him, there is nothing that takes root more easily than accusations against others or the state.

He recalled that he had already said that there were no problems in Serbia with supplies and pointed out that there is enough oil.

However, he said that it is not a question of oil supply, but of its price.

"Small gas stations will say that we are procuring oil derivatives from NIS for 183 dinars per liter, while they are forced to sell it for 178 dinars," said Vucic.

He stressed that Serbia has oil reserves and that he will ask for other arrangements to ensure continued supply.

Vucic also stated that some people recently went shopping to Lidl stores, emptied the shelves, bought everything they could - and then the story was launched that there was a general shortage of products. However, within an hour, the shelves were fully stocked again.

"As if I have a reason to lie to anybody, my job is to tell people the truth, to live with our people. It's my job for people to know what is happening to us. We have not been deceitful on any issue," he stressed.

Vucic said that almost everything has been provided, what is still awaited are stockpiles of powdered milk, for which an order has been placed, but sometimes contracts are not respected.
