President of the National Assembly of Serbia Ivica Dacic assessed today that, regardless of the fact that a lot has been said about the candidacy of so-called Kosovo in the Council of Europe, it seems that it suits everyone at this moment for that not to be on the agenda right away, and he added that more will probably be known about this in the fall.

After a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, in which he participated as the head of the delegation of the Serbian Assembly, Dacic told reporters in Strasbourg that the issue of "Kosovo and its candidacy for membership in the Council of Europe" has not yet entered the procedure.

"It seems that it suits everyone at this moment for that not to be on the agenda right away, so that topic is not yet before the Committee of Ministers. Before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe initiates the procedure, the Committee of Foreign Ministers of member states of the Council of Europe should launch the topic," Dacic explained.

According to him, in the meantime, it has been heard that so-called Kosovo is seeking some special status of special guest or something that would prepare them and give them the opportunity to be part of the CoE PA.

"But, that did not happen, so in any case they have the right to participate as guest observers in some working bodies, but for now there is no change in their status. When that will happen, we will probably know more about in the fall," said the president of the National Assembly.
