From the beginning of the Exit music festival, until the last visitor left the Petrovaradin Fortress, Novi Sad City Sanitation (JKP Cistoca) workers collected and removed over 50 tons of garbage.

Cans, cardboard, glass, plastic and other waste collected from the fortress has been taken to the city landfill, where, after getting sorted and baled, it is sent to recycling centers for further separation and processing.

Dumpsters for disposal of plastic cups and bottles were placed in several locations on the fortress for the second time, in cooperation with the Exit Foundation, which proved to be a good solution and motivation to raise awareness about environmental protection among visitors. During the four days of the festival, these containers were getting filled of plastic packaging, the company announced.

As they added, for the purpose of maintaining cleanliness before, during and after Exit, 100 workers were actively working at the Petrovaradin Fortress, the surrounding area and the quay, while about 150 were directly or indirectly involved in the overall organization of the job.

"Our work is not finished when Exit ends. In the following days, the area where the festival was held will be restored to its original condition, after the stages have been dismantled and taken away from the fortress. Then most of activities will center around collecting the remaining scattered garbage," the company said.
