After three and a half decades, the head of the Egyptian state, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, is on an official three-day visit to Serbia.

In front of the Palace of Serbia, President Aleksandar Vucic hosted a ceremonial welcome for President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, followed by a meeting between the two statesmen.

During the visit, the strengthening of cooperation, investments and trade between the two countries, which have been fostering friendly relations since the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement, will be discussed.

A plenary meeting of the delegations of Serbia and Egypt is planned, and then President Vucic will present a medal to the President of Egypt.

The visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is very important for Serbia, since Egypt is the central country in the Arab world, State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starovic pointed out earlier, adding that relations between the two countries are characterized by deep historical friendship.

Starovic specified that as many as 13 agreements and declarations in different fields will be signed during President Sisi's visit, as well as that an economic forum is an important part of the event, which will bring together more than 130 companies from Egypt and Serbia.

The Nikola Tesla Belgrade Airport organized a red carpet reception for Egyptian guests, with the Serbian Army Guard lined up.

The plane from Egypt was accompanied by six MiG-29s, and El-Sisi was welcomed by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
