Serbian Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stressed that Serbia will receive a loan of one billion dollars from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with an interest rate of 3 percent.

He said that our country will strengthen public finances in this way, and that it also has money to pay back some old loans.

"An interest rate of only 3 percent is unimaginable at the moment. Interest rates on the market are 7, 7.5 percent. We are saving 40 to 45 million dollars on interest alone," Mali told a local television station.

This, Mali continbued, gives us the opportunity to react to the situation related to gas and everything else, and to overcome the crisis more easily, with as few negative consequences as possible.

The minister of finance, together with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, was on an official visit to the UAE during the weekend. Earlier in the day, the president also spoke about this agreement, saying that this represents "huge support for Serbia, and whenever things are difficult, Serbia can rely on the UAE."
