President Aleksandar Vucic said last night, regarding the threats from the EU that their investors will withdraw from Serbia if we do not accept the plan for Kosovo and Metohija, that the German BASF is laying off 2,600 workers, which the German economy can easily withstand, and asked if anyone really thinks that they would not withdrew companies from our country, and worry about jobs here.

"They say, foreign companies will remain... Will they, like they remained in Russia, where they had much higher profits than they have in Serbia", said Vucic and asked if someone is really that naive to think that European companies would not leave.

Vucic pointed out that BASF is the base of the German and European economy and that it is once again laying off workers due to the high prices of energy, fertilizers and other problems.

He also said that some in Serbia wish for the demise of the German economy.

"Only idiots wish for the downfall of Germany, they don't understand that half of our industry and the healthiest part would go down," said Vucic and mentioned Continental, ZF, MTU, Brose...

The state is not a toy, said Vucic.

Serbia is regional leader in terms of economic parameters

Vucic said that Serbia is the regional leader in terms of economic parameters.

"In the first two months of this year, the projected deficit was 51 billion, and we have a deficit of only nine billion euros," Vucic said last night on TV Happy and added that Serbia is doing well financially and that we have about five billion in the account.

He said that Serbia has overtaken the countries in the region in terms of salaries, which once seemed impossible.

"Montenegro had 727 euros in December, we had 718 euros. We have significantly increased salaries since January. Wait for March, you will see what the salaries will be. Our public debt rate is 50.8 percent as of February, which is 9.2 percent below the Maastricht level," said Vucic.

New increase in pensions

Vucic announced that a cross-section will be made in June, that a new increase in pensions will follow by the end of the year, which will be in double-digits. He announced that pensions will be increased in October, November or December.

"Pensioners will be satisfied, and salaries will also increase," said Vucic. He noted that this will be the case unless, as he said, Serbia is faced with some major problems, and those problems can only be political.
