Tonight at midnight, the election silence begins in Montenegro ahead of the second round of presidential elections, to be held on Sunday, April 2.

The Agency for Electronic Media (AEM) reminds all electronic media broadcasting programs in Montenegro of the provisions of the rulebook on rights and obligations of broadcasters during the election campaign for the president of Montenegro.

"During the period of pre-election silence, media presentation of presidential candidates is not allowed; political advertising; publication of forecasts of voting results; candidates' slogans or symbols; the results of public opinion polls, other research and analysis related to the choice of voters regarding the assessment of election results", AEM announced.

Election silence lasts until the polling stations close on Sunday. The right to vote in the second round of elections for the president of Montenegro is held by the same number of voters registered in the electoral roll which was closed on March 8 before the first election round - 542,154 citizens.

Tonight at 8 pm., a debate between presidential candidates will be held on the RTCG public broadcaster. DPS candidate and current head of state Milo Djukanovic and deputy president of the Europe Now Movement Jakov Milatovic will compete in the second round.
