Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS, Serbia's state-owned electric power company) has changed its legal status from a public enterprise to a non-public joint-stock company, given that EPS shares were registered in the Central Securities Depository and Clearing Register yesterday.

Information about the company has also been changed on the EPS website and it now states that EPS is a joint-stock company and the largest company in Serbia, an economic and energy pillar of the country, as well as that the main activities of EPS AD are electricity production, supply and trade.

As stated, the founder and sole shareholder of EPS AD is the Republic of Serbia, and the rights of the founder are exercised by the Government of Serbia.

The basic capital of the company is 100 percent share capital divided into 36,510,509 ordinary shares with the right to vote, each with a nominal value of 10,000.00 dinars. All ordinary shares have been issued and are owned by the founder.

The bodies of the Joint Stock Company Elektroprivreda Srbije are the Assembly, the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board. The Assembly appoints members of the Supervisory Board, while the Supervisory Board appoints the general director and executive directors who make up the Executive Board.

"EPS is fully committed to achieving its mission, which is the safe supply of electricity to customers, under the most favorable market conditions, while constantly improving the quality of services, improving care for the environment and increasing the well-being of the community in which it operates. EPS strives to be socially responsible, a market-oriented and profitable company, competitive on the European market and with significant influence in the region, recognized as a reliable partner to domestic and international companies", the website says.

It is added that the company EPS Trgovanje d.o.o. Ljubljana, founded on July 1, 2014, was the first established by EPS abroad for the purpose of electricity trading.
