We discover what will happen next with the mother of the boy suspected of mass murder in Belgrade school

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade is taking over from the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office the pre-trial proceedings against the mother of a boy suspected of killing 9 students and a school guard and wounding six others, including a teacher, at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in Belgrade.

The case is being taken over for the purpose of concentration of evidence, because criminal proceedings against the boy's father are already being conducted before the Higher Public Prosecution (VJT) in Belgrade.

"The pre-trial proceedings against the mother are being conducted in order to determine whether her actions contain the elements of the criminal offense of neglecting and abusing a minor, while the father is being investigated for the criminal offense of serious offenses against general safety, and it will also be examined whether his actions possibly contain elements of the criminal offense of neglecting and abusing a minor," the prosecution said in a press release.

M.K. and V.K., the parents of K.K. (13), spoke publicly for the first time yesterday.

"On that 3rd of May, eternal silence took hold in which we weep silently from incurable pain and sadness every day for every innocent child who died and for Dragan (the guard) who looked after the children with so much love. We deeply and most sincerely mourn and offer our condolences to every family for their loss, each of which is our loss too.

The mother was questioned two days ago by the Belgrade police, and she talked for hours.

Father's been detained since May 5

The father, V.K., has been in the custody at the District Prison since May 5, according to the decision of the Higher Court, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense - a serious offense against general safety. He was questioned by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, and denied the crime.

It was also reported earlier that V.K. had not violated prison rules, nor did he endanger his life or the life of another person in any way.

Given that this is a person in custody, providing any other information than the above would be a violation of the Personal Data Protection Act, the authorities said.

There are seven pieces of evidence undergoing expert examination.
