More than 200 products made in our country sold in Arad: What's the importance of Romanian market for Serbia?

More than three years after the project of positioning Serbian products on the Romanian market was launched, Ambassador Stefan Tomasevic visited a store in Arad, part of the Remarkt retail chain in Romania.

On that occasion, he stressed the support and assistance of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic which he marked as crucial in starting the idea that is based on a vision of modern economic diplomacy.

He explained that in the process of marketing Serbian products, the willingness of Remarkt executive Dusan Wilms to open the doors of his stores, as well as the willingness of the Serbian distributor Dox Group, led by Nino Popovic, to start working in Romania, all meant a lot.

As Ambassador Tomasevic stated there were almost no Serbian products in the Romanian market before the start of the project, except for one producer and certain fruitless attempts by othes that proved to be unsustainable.

Today, in the retail chains Remarkt, Delhaize (Mega Image in Romania) and others, over 200 recognizable Serbian products of top quality are sold.

Work is underway on their positioning in other stores as well, and more Romanian companies have joined the distribution, which can help with in-depth placement of Serbian products throughout Romania, due to good connections with sales chains.

Ambassador Tomasevic stressed that after the initial steps and the assistance of the Embassy, it is very important that Serbian producers recognize the importance of the Romanian market of 19 million people and that for the sake of the sustainability of this project, they need to build in more investment in the promotion of their products into their business strategies.
