All eyes at arms fair were on them: Miona created a sensation, dresses made from thousands of shell casings

Among the tanks and a large number of other kinds of military equipment at the arms fair "Partner 2023" in Belgrade, the visitors were attracted to incredible - fashion creations. Two "golden" dresses were shining in Hall 4, but it's only when you get up close that you see what makes them special.

Namely, they are completely made from shell casings, and the designer, Miona Badzevic Andjelkovic, tells Telegraf.rs that she wants to send a strong message through them.

She explained to us that the idea came about "strangely, but logically." Our interlocutor has for a long time loved sports and fashion, and she decided to combine two passions into one. And when she arrived at the arms fair, she had no doubt that her creations would turn everyone's head.

"The idea came about strangely but logically, I already made dresses from odd materials, leather and metal. A few years ago I started shooting and fell in love with the sport, after every practice we have to collect ammunition (casings). As I would do that, I would be thinking about what I could do with them. It took me a year and a half to make this. About 10,000 shell casings have been used, which had to be prepared, but that is my love for sports and art," Miona states.

She says that these two creations are certainly neither the first nor the last that she made, but they were ready enough to present to everyone.

"I have more models, but these two were ready enough to be at the fair, the others are 2D, mosaics that I made, and the idea to make something a bit more feminine was born a year and a half ago," she adds.

However, everyone wonders if these dresses are wearable at all, and Miona reveals that they are, and that she is planning fashion shows.

"They're absolutely wearable. The idea is to organize fashion shows abroad that should carry a strong message. The complete collection should be made from shell casings," she concludes.
