Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic attended today the signing of a contract between the Ministry of Defense and JP (public company) Jugoimport-SDPR for the procurement and modernization of 92 complex combat platforms for the Serbian Army, whose total value is about 13.5 billion dinars.

The head of the Directorate for Defense Technologies of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Dr. Slavko Rakic, signed two contracts with Tijana Konic and Andrijana Subotic from Jugoimport-SDPR.

Colonel Dragan Panic from the Directorate for Procurement and Sales of the Sector for Material Resources signed three contracts with Andrijana Subotic from the company Jugoimport-SDPR.

In addition to the contractor, more than 20 subcontractors will be involved in the production, partly from Defense Industry of Serbia, as well as subcontractors who have the capacity to respond to modern requirements in terms of quality and delivery deadlines.

The domestic defense industry is growing and developing and is at the same time a strong and reliable partner of the Serbian Army and the domestic economy as a whole. The tendency of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Army is to continue equipping the military with modern weapons and equipment, which are the result of domestic development and produced within the capacities of domestic manufacturers.

Over the past few years, with the significant support of the Government of Serbia, conditions have been created for the production of modern weapons and military equipment for the Serbian Army, business has been strengthened and its status symbol as a regional leader in the field of weapons and military equipment production has been confirmed.

The signing of the contract was attended by State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense Nemanja Starovic, Assistant Minister for Material Resources Dr. Nenad Miloradovic, Chiefs of Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Zarko Micin and Brigadier General Goran Momcilovic, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Serbian Army, Defense Industry of Serbia Group, and the subcontractors.

Today, the minister of defense also visited the stands of organizational units of the Ministry of Defense and companies of from Serbian Defense Industry at the Belgrade Fair.

Vucevic was presented the capacities of the companies and their production program, and during the tour the minister took the opportunity to talk with representatives of various companies and hear their impressions about the interest of visitors and participants in the weapons and military equipment displayed there.

At the same time the minister heard about these companies' plans for the upcoming period. He was assured of the continuous progress of our defense technologies, as well as the results achieved in the period between the two fairs.

The international arms and military equipment fair "PARTNER" has been on a constant upward trajectory for more than two decades, in terms of the number of exhibitors, funds, business associates, visitors, as well as publicity in domestic and foreign media.
