62-year-old miner V.M. lost his life in an accident that occurred in the Veliki Majdan lead and zinc mine near Ljubovija.

"The accident occurred during ore transportation, all competent authorities are at the scene to determine the exact cause, an investigation is being carried out," it was confirmed for the RINA agency.

According to his colleagues, the miner who lost his life was experienced in his work and had undergone all the necessary training, and medical examinations.

"This is the first time that a tragedy has happened in the mine, I have been working here for 15 years. The victim was excellent at his job and a wonderful colleague. He passed all the necessary training and medical examinations. This hit us all hard," said one of the Veliki Maidan miners.

The management of the mine offered its deepest condolences to the family of the miner who died.
