Serbian PM Djuro Macut attends inauguration: He congratulated new pope and engaged in short conversation

New Catholic Pope Leo XIV was officially inaugurated in the Vatican on Sunday.

The ceremony was attended by numerous statesmen, crowned heads and religious leaders, including Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut.

Pope Leo XIV officially took over his duties by leading the inaugural mass, which brought together some of the most important leaders from around the world.

Macut had the opportunity to speak with numerous statesmen and European monarchs before the start of the ceremony, and at one point "crossed paths" with US Vice President J.D. Vance.

After the mass, the participants congratulated to the new pope. On that occasion, the prime minister of Serbia had in a short conversation with Pope Leo XIV, confirming Serbia's good relations with the Catholic Church and the importance of this event for the international community.

This inauguration marked the beginning of a new era for the Catholic Church, and the presence of dignitaries from around the world confirmed its importance and influence.
