Brnabic and Kallas discuss Serbia's EU path and implementation of reforms

Serbian National Assembly President Ana Brnabic met on Thursday with EU Foreign Affairs High Representative Kaja Kallas, with whom she discussed Serbia's further path towards the European Union, as well as the status of the implementation of reforms.
Brnabic spoke with Kallas about Serbia's progress in implementing reform activities and about the challenges in preserving political dialogue, her cabinet announced.
The president of the National Assembly said during the meeting that institutions have made significant efforts to preserve the inclusiveness of the process, but that the lack of broader political consensus and active participation of all relevant actors limited the dynamics of certain reforms.
She particularly stressed the importance of continued constructive dialogue with the support of the EU, as well as the necessity of implementing the agreed upon obligations.
Brnabic said that Serbia, as a country that remains committed to European integration, wants to be a reliable partner in preserving peace, stability and common values, while respecting its own vital interests.
The meeting was attended by Vice-President of the National Assembly and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration Elvira Kovac, Special Envoy of the European Union for Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina Peter Sorensen, and the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret.
