The Trump administration is reportedly pressuring Balkan countries, including Serbia, to accept migrants that could be deported from the United States.

Bloomberg News reported this on Thursday.

This is said to be part of a broader US strategy to find foreign governments willing to accept the deported migrants, the news outlet said, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The White House, the State Department and Serbia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately respond to Reuters regarding this issue.

Last month, the US Supreme Court decided that temporary legal status for hundreds of thousands of migrants from Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti and Nicaragua can be revoked.

According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration is now looking for possible destinations for the migrants who could now be deported.
