PM Macut: Caribbean officials' visit also significant because of strategically important issues for Serbia

Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut met on Monday with a delegation of the Caribbean states Saint Lucia and Saint Kitts and Nevis, led by their parliament speakers Claudius Francis and Lanien Blanchette.

Macut assessed that the meeting was a good opportunity to exchange experiences regarding long-term cooperation and to further improve communication, which will be significant for both sides.

The prime minister also stated that the meeting with the representatives of the Caribbean countries is very important because of their stance toward issues of strategic importance for Serbia, the government said in a statement.

Macut further said that it is important to improve cooperation in the field of education, especially when it comes to granting scholarships.

Improvement of cooperation in the field of trade, security and issues related to the status of persons with disabilities were also discussed during the meeting.
