Deputy PM and Interior Mister Interior Ivica Dacic met today at the Palace of Serbia with Israeli Ambassador in Belgrade Avivit Bar-Ilan, with whom he discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of interior affairs.

Dacic and Bar-Ilan noted that the successful bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Israel has been accompanied by very good police cooperation, and that there is room for further improvement.

Dacic, as proof of the friendly relations between the two countries, pointed out that the Ministry of Internal Affairs takes all measures and actions within its jurisdiction in order to safely hold sporting events in which Israeli teams, and their supporters from Israel participate.

The minister added that members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to take all necessary measures to protect all diplomatic and consular missions in the country.

Ambassador Bar-Ilan stressed that the friendly relations between the two countries are additionally confirmed by the fact that Serbia was one of the first to react and offer help in the form of three heavy-lift helicopters when large-scale wildfires hit Israel in April this year, and when members of the Serbian MUP were on stand-by to help.
