National Assembly President Ana Brnabic said today that blockades organized around Belgrade are an indication of the impotence, frustration and anger of those who participate in them, because the citizens did not want to join their protest on Vidovdan and did not want to rise up against their own state.

"It seems to me that they (protesters) were completely sure that the call for violence and the overthrowing of the constitutional order on Saturday, on Vidovdan, would be quite clear and unambiguous, when they said, 'this is no longer a student protest, we are now urging citizens to join us, we believe in you, you have the green light'. The citizens did not join," Brnabic told TV Happy, and added:

"This (putting up roadblocks) is revenge against the citizens and this is their frustration and anger, because with it the color revolution finally failed, they did not get what they wanted, they did not succeed in violently seizing power, they did not succeed in attracting the citizens to go against, above all, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic."

Brnabic also said that the reason for the anger on the part of those participating in the blockades is the situation at the faculties - as, according to her, "faculty blockades no longer exist".

"I looked at the number of students who have now registered for exams at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Medicine. That is their (protesters') defeat, it is absolutely their defeat. Faculty blockades no longer exist. In about ten days, the exam period starts at the Faculty of Medicine, which was one of the strongholds of the blockaders.

More than 3,000 exams have been registered for the first exam period. This is the colloquium week at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade. They are closing today, but so far more than 2,000 students have registered for the colloquia. Therefore, a complete collapse, a complete debacle both on the streets, during the protests, and at the faculties," Brnabic stressed.

She assessed that the main feature of the protests and blockades over the past months has been hatred, violence, terror against everyone who thinks differently.

Brnabic added that she believes it is time for the citizens to return to work, including the parliamentary opposition, that is, the former authorities.

Brnabic thanked the citizens for not responding to the call for violence.

"I want to thank all our citizens and our entire nation, because they did not respond to the call to overthrow the state and did not respond to the call to violence, regardless of who they vote for," concluded the president of the Serbian National Assembly.
